When I was in graduate school, I created a series of interactive books with a character named "Dougy" after my son who is on the Autism Spectrum (his middle name is Douglas). I recently updated them (they were pretty outdated design-wise) and I decided to share my first one with my followers in my Teachers Pay Teachers store in honor of Autism Awareness. 2020-06-06 Autism is a highly complex condition, and that complexity is reflected in the broad and diverse range of books that have been written about it. This was both to help children understand the various characteristics and and challenges that people on the autism spectrum face (for example of teachers or siblings of children with autism) but also because I wanted a list of books for children with autism, so that they could see themselves in stories, see stories written from the perspective of an autistic child and see children's books with I personally used this book while working in the general education with my students.
