April is Autism Awareness month! When I was in graduate school, I created a series of interactive books with a character named "Dougy" after my son who is on the Autism Spectrum (his middle name is Douglas). I recently updated them (they were pretty outdated design-wise) and I decided to share my first one with my followers in my Teachers Pay Teachers store in honor of Autism Awareness. 2020-06-06 Autism is a highly complex condition, and that complexity is reflected in the broad and diverse range of books that have been written about it. Thousands of books have regarded autism from a clinical perspective — as a developmental disability that is now recognized as highly common, affecting at least 1 in 68 school-aged children in America.
